G&C Mutual Bank was delighted to sponsor the Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU) Victoria’s inaugural Women of Colour Conference, which was held at Melbourne’s Immigration Museum on 28th October 2019.

The conference focused on gaining an understanding of our diverse public sector workforce and the barriers and challenges faced daily by women of colour at work. Topics discussed included the difficulties experienced accessing development and promotion opportunities, bullying and discrimination, and the lack of representation of women of colour in leadership roles.

CPSU views the conference as the first step in an important conversation between women of colour and the union movement, and the experiences and views discussed will inform CPSU’s future work with women of colour.

G&C Mutual Bank was represented at the event by Rosanna Argall, Deputy CEO and Company Secretary, and Vanessa Tomic, Head of People & Culture, who are pictured below left with Karen Batt, State Secretary of CPSU Victoria, and Nimesh Patel, Mobile Lender for Victoria.
