The NSW Ambulance Employee of the Year Award for 2025 has been presented to Queanbeyan paramedic Martin G, in recognition of his dedication to education, teamwork, and community-based emergency response.
Martin has been acknowledged for his leadership as the lead volunteer facilitator for Community First Responders (CFR) in the Southern Tablelands town of Captains Flat. CFRs are volunteers, often drawn from the NSW State Emergency Service (SES) and Rural Fire Service (RFS), who provide vital first aid and patient support during medical emergencies and major incidents while awaiting the arrival of paramedics.
Through his commitment to training and continuous improvement, Martin has strengthened the skills and confidence of the Captains Flat CFR unit. His work has improved communication between volunteers and paramedics, enhanced operational performance, and built stronger connections between NSW Ambulance and the local community.
Martin said the award reflects the dedication of the volunteers he supports.
“I’m really proud of all the Community First Responders - who have their own jobs and then come home and are on call. They really inspire me,” he said.
“I’m very humbled and honoured by this award, which is also testament to the efforts of the volunteers and the other facilitators from NSW Ambulance.”
We extend our warmest congratulations to Martin and thank him for his exceptional service to the community. We are honoured to have sponsored the NSW Ambulance Employee of the Month and Employee of the Year Awards for over a decade and are proud to recognise and reward the dedication and hard work of NSW Ambulance employees like Martin.
