NSW Ambulance is an integral and dynamic part of the New South Wales health system and one of the largest ambulance services in the world. G&C Mutual Bank has a long and enduring relationship with NSW Ambulance, proudly sponsoring the NSW Ambulance Employee of the Year Awards for over ten years.

 

Each month, a staff member who has demonstrated outstanding performance or innovation is recognised. From the eleven monthly winners, the Employee of the Year is chosen.

 

2018 Employee of the Year Award - Alana Biernat, Recover at Work Co-ordinator

Staff safety and recovery is of paramount importance. Alana, in her role as Recover at Work Co-ordinator in the Safety and Recovery Unit, has made it easier for staff to receive support and return to work by improving NSW Ambulance's workers compensation premium and closing a third of the open cases. She has secured permanent careers for more than 60 staff and works efficiently to finalise open claims as quickly as possible.

 

Alana is proactive in offering assistance and mentoring to colleagues, recommending best practice injury management strategies to support her team and providing additional support to injured workers.

 

Customer focused and results driven, Alana is always striving to achieve the best possible outcomes for injured NSW Ambulance staff.

 

In recognition and thanks for her great work, Alana was presented a trophy and will be featured on the staff honours board for 12 months. She also receives $2000, one night's accommodation in a hotel and is invited to lunch with NSW Ambulance and G&C Mutual Bank executives.
